Sir Ted started the Manson family property business with his father, Colin, in the mid 1970′s. Colin and Sir Ted concentrated mostly on residential over the first 20 years; buying, renovating, building and selling many thousands of old and new homes and apartments in Auckland, using their own construction team.

Mansons TCLM is now a third-generation business – the TCLM stands for Sir Ted and his sons; Culum, Luke and Mac. Mansons TCLM is the most successful commercial development business in New Zealand. It manages the entire development operation – acquisition of site, planning and local authority approvals, building and construction, lease negotiation, contract and lease documentation, property marketing and management.
